(Education Outreach Program Coordinator)
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and community-minded summer student to serve as a Education Outreach Coordinator. The successful candidate will play a vital role in conducting outreach and strengthening connections with local union groups, community partners, and employment service agencies. The goal of this work is to increase awareness and participation in education and training programs offered through Solidarity Place, particularly for individuals facing barriers to employment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct outreach to local unions, community organizations, and social service agencies in Hamilton to promote worker education and training programs.
Assist in coordinating and promoting events, workshops, and information sessions related to employment rights and upskilling opportunities.
Support the development of promotional and educational materials (digital and print).
Participate in community meetings and forums to represent Solidarity Place.
Help document outreach activities, collect feedback, and contribute to reporting and evaluation processes.
Qualifications
Must meet the eligibility requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs Program:
Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred
Be legally entitled to work in Canada
Strong interest in labour, community organizing, and social justice.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable engaging with a wide range of people in diverse communities.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Familiarity with Hamilton's community landscape is considered an asset.

Hours per Week: 35
Wage: $20.00/hour
