The Solidarity Place Worker Education Centre is a non-profit organization committed to promoting education, advocacy, and critical services for workers struggling for greater dignity in their workplaces. We offer a range of services, including Know Your Rights in the Workplace training programs, various other educational workshops, a low-income tax clinic, and community meeting space to help workers navigate the complex world of employment.

Solidarity Place has developed, designed, and facilitated on-demand workshops and courses on topics such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Employment Standards Act (ESA), the Ontario Human Rights Code, and the Future of Work in Ontario. We have delivered these trainings in partnership with various organizations, including but not limited to the Workers Health and Safety Centre, the Sexual Assault Centre of Hamilton, the Workers Arts and Heritage Centre, YWCA Hamilton, Hamilton Immigration Partnership Council, Hamilton & Wentworth District School Board, York Region District School Board, Immigrant Workers Centre, McMaster University School of Labour Studies and Mohawk College. Solidarity Place is currently the only organization in the City of Hamilton with an explicit mandate to provide Know Your Rights in the Workplace training to vulnerable and marginalized workers.
