The Canada Summer Jobs 2026 Social Services Program Planner(s) will work under the direction of the Executive Director and Board of Directors of the Solidarity Place Worker Education Centre to support the development, coordination, and delivery of community-based social services and educational programming, including:

Expanding and delivering social service initiatives, including Solidarity Place’s Low-Income Tax Clinic and workplace education and training programs.

Supporting the development of future educational programming and outreach priorities, with a primary focus on providing Know Your Rights in the Workplace training to vulnerable workers entering the Ontario labour market in Hamilton.

Assisting in the development and expansion of skill-building and employment readiness programming designed to help marginalized communities access meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities.

Strengthening existing relationships with key stakeholders, community organizations, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and charitable organizations serving low-income individuals, newcomers, youth, and other vulnerable populations.

Building new partnerships with community stakeholders, agencies, institutions, and organizations that support vulnerable and marginalized communities.

Enhancing the effectiveness and reach of Solidarity Place’s communication networks, including social media platforms, public outreach efforts, and website content.

Supporting graphic design and communications initiatives to ensure educational and promotional materials are accessible, engaging, and client-focused.

Recruiting and coordinating volunteers to strengthen program delivery and expand community outreach efforts, particularly in support of the Low-Income Tax Clinic.

Maintaining and updating organizational databases and records to ensure relevant performance indicators and community needs inform program planning and decision-making.

Conducting routine administrative tasks and correspondence related to assigned duties and organizational operations.

Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Solidarity Place Worker Education Centre while on-site.

Compensation and Term of Employment:
The position will pay $20.00 per hour for 35 hours per week. The employment term will run from July 3, 2026, to August 28, 2026. Applicants must be 15-30 years old at the beginning of the employment term.
